Boulder Opal and Blue Lace Agate Necklace (Blue Lace 2)
This is one of the most beautiful stones that I used. The center stone is large, 2.5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide (at the bottom) Boulder Opal Cabochon. Boulder opal is a rock that contains thin seams and patches of opal surrounded by or attached to its natural host rock. Australia is the world's most famous source of boulder opal. Much of it is in a brown ironstone with streaks and patches of precious opal.
I have 3 pieces of beautiful carved flowers in Blue Lace Agate. This is the second of those 3 and it decorates the top of the pendant. With its soft blue color, it's no surprise blue lace agate is said to be a soothing stone. The circular, graceful banding is stimulating, but still exudes a calm energy. Blue lace agate is said to be a stone of communication, making it easier for people to become confident and articulate. For this reason, it's considered a good idea to wear jewelry with blue lace agate or carry a stone in your pocket when required to speak in public. As a bonus, blue lace agate is sometimes referred to as the Stone of the Diplomat, helping ensure your words are not angry and your meaning is clear. Since agate has a slower vibration frequency than most stones, it is valued as a stabilizing gemstone.
The matching beaded chain is 18 inches long and closes with a non-extendable toggle clasp.
The back is lined with golden brown leather.
