Black Lip Shell Fringe Earrings

Sometimes a design deserves an encore.

I rarely create the same piece twice. One of the joys of making artisan jewelry is allowing each design to evolve naturally, making every piece as unique as the materials that inspire it. After completing the first pair of these Black Lip Shell earrings, I found myself returning to the design from a slightly different perspective. The result is this one of a kind variation, inspired by the original while offering its own distinctive personality.

These hand beaded statement earrings celebrate the natural beauty of Black Lip Shell, the iridescent inner shell of the black-lipped pearl oyster, the same species renowned for producing Tahitian pearls. 

The shell focal is framed with shimmering pearl and crystal cup chain, accented by black and silver beads with just a touch of crystal for added sparkle. Long, flowing fringe featuring additional pieces of Black Lip Shell creates graceful movement, allowing the earrings to catch both the light and the eye with every step.

Measuring approximately 4 inches long and 1.5 inches wide, these statement earrings have a dramatic silhouette while remaining comfortable to wear. They are finished with titanium posts, making them an excellent choice for many people with sensitive ears.

Like all of my bead embroidered jewelry, these earrings are one of a kind. While they share the spirit of an earlier design, they were never intended to be an exact copy. Instead, they reflect my creative process and allowing an idea to change and become something entirely its own.
